Checkout Buddy

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2, 2026.

Checkout Buddy is developed and operated by EDOR Group LLC.

Information Checkout Buddy may process

  • Account information, when an account is used, such as email address, authentication records, account status, subscription status, and account deletion requests.
  • Shopping information such as trips, shopping lists, stores, product names, barcode scan results, prices, quantities, discounts, taxes, tips, categories, completion status, and shopping history.
  • Receipt information such as receipt images, receipt totals, receipt items, raw receipt-processing text, match confidence, review status, and receipt-processing diagnostics.
  • Preferences such as privacy choices, onboarding status, budget settings, account-linked preferences, and local app settings.
  • Usage and diagnostics such as feature interactions, app version, device platform, crash information, performance information, product-search results, receipt-processing results, and support-request details.

How information is collected

Information may be entered by the user, created while the user shops, produced by barcode scanning, generated from receipt review, submitted through support or deletion forms, stored locally on the device, or synchronized with EDOR Group systems when account, backup, receipt, privacy, or support features are used.

How information is used

Information may be used to provide shopping-trip totals, save local history, reconcile receipts, process receipt images, maintain accounts, back up receipt records, synchronize privacy choices, provide support, handle account deletion, protect the service, improve reliability, and measure feature performance.

Receipt data

Receipt features may process receipt images, extracted text, receipt totals, item names, prices, quantities, taxes, tips, discounts, and item-matching diagnostics. Enhanced receipt parsing is a paid feature and may send receipt data to service providers used for receipt OCR or AI-assisted parsing when the feature is enabled and available.

Analytics and product improvement

Checkout Buddy supports optional Product Improvement Analytics. Where enabled, analytics use pseudonymous identifiers and operational event data to understand reliability and feature performance. Pseudonymous information is not anonymous because it may remain linkable to a device, account, or internal identifier.

Aggregated research

Checkout Buddy separates Product Improvement Analytics from Aggregated Market Research. If a user enables Aggregated Market Research, eligible information may contribute to aggregated datasets. EDOR Group LLC does not sell or provide individual Checkout Buddy shopping histories, receipt images, or user-level records to external customers.

Service providers

Service provider categories may include hosting, authentication, data storage, email delivery, subscription processing, error monitoring, receipt OCR, AI-assisted parsing, and form delivery. EDOR Group LLC uses service providers only as needed to operate, secure, support, or improve Checkout Buddy.

Retention

Retention varies by record type and operational purpose. Local data remains on the device until the user deletes it, removes the app, or uses privacy controls. Account, support, receipt-backup, subscription, security, legal, and operational records may be retained for the period needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

Deletion and privacy choices

Users may delete local data in the app and may request account deletion through the app or website. Privacy choices may include Product Improvement Analytics, Aggregated Market Research, receipt contribution, cloud sync, and resetting pseudonymous identifiers where available. Some records may be retained when required for legal, security, accounting, or operational reasons.
